Why I made this blog

I made this blog, to show people what this group, "Mexica Movement", is about. What is it about? Racism and historical revisionism, mostly. It's the brainchild of Olin Tezcatlipoca (born Leo Guerra). Olin, a former bookstore worker at the defunct "Midnight Special" in Santa Monica, CA, decided to compound the rhetoric of ethnic "liberation" (much like that of Khalid Abdul Muhammad and David Duke), and form his own organization. Originally titled, the "Chicano Mexicano Mexica Empowerment Committee", he later changed it to the "Mexica Movement". Ever since he started it, he's been lecturing throughout southern California, spreading the "true" knowledge of history to his fellow people, or whom he calls, "Nican Tlaca".

So what kind of knowledge has he been spreading?

1. That whites/"Europeans" living in the United States today (or Anahuac, as he calls it) are collectively responsible for the misery of it's Indigenous population. That's right, that white middle-aged mechanic living in Pomona with a family who's mostly apolitical, is partly responsible for the "torture, rape, pillaging, etc." of all Natives. Forget how many can trace their ancestry to Irish, German, and Italian immigrants who arrived between the 1880s and 1920s (the biggest wave of immigration we've ever had, relative to that time), they are all responsible for things that occured hundreds of years ago.

2. That "white" Hispanics and latinos are European parasites (gusanos). How do you determine just how white they are? Well, just at look at them. Nevermind that some of them have Indigenous ancestry, they are European and don't belong here. Frida Kahlo would've had some trouble passing as Indigenous, she could've easily passed for Arab/Middle Eastern/Mediterranean, or even Gypsy.

3. That the borders on this continent are all "colonial" and should be ignored by the Indigenous. Even though the group recognizes the US Constitituon (LOL, I wonder what jurisdiction that would have with no borders).

4. That whites/Europeans need to go back to Europe ("racist" ones first). How will this happen? Well according to them, once North America becomes mostly "Nican Tlaca", they will take control of the land, and have racist Europeans go back to Europe, and eventually work out a deal with the rest to go back. What if they refuse? The group says it's opposed to violence, but how will they make millions of native-born "whites" to go back to a place they've never even visited? It's certainly an open question.

Many questions still linger. Like, what about those of mixed ancestry? Olin says that any Spanish/European ancestry in "Nican Tlaca" is merely a "scar" left behind from the days of colonialism. He seems to ignore the centuries of immigration from Spain/Europe afterwards (for example, during the Spanish Civil War) much like that of immigration from Europe to the United States. Now if Mexico (the home of the Mexica) were more like current-day Bolivia, he might have a point. He challenges further by claiming that most Mexicans are of pure Indigenous descent, and merely claim to be or are indentifed as "mestizo" because of what language they speak, or their culture. Polls in the country have stated that the populace is about 60% mestizo, and the rest about evenly European-descended or Indigenous. There is no way to really know, but I'd follow one of those polls over the claims of a crackpot.

Also, what about those that are NOT European/white, but black, east Asian, etc.? There seems to be nothing mentioned about them. Yet, blacks make up significant numbers in Jamaica, Haiti, Brazil, etc. Presumbaly, they'd be asked to please leave and go back to Africa? Asians would have to go back to Asia?

Another thing, so much time is spent on the history of European colonialism in the Americas, and much less on pre-Columbian history. Much of that is focused on the great achievements of the Indigenous, like "inventing" democracy (LOL), building the first "civilizations", "pyramids" & cities (ignoring the Egyptians, early south Asians, etc.), developing use of chocolate, tomato, corn, etc. (a cultural development granted, though, for example, unsweetened cocoa they used is not like the real chocolate we know today. and some of these foods would've likely been discovered or developed at some point), and advanced knowledge of mathematics (though I wouldn't place that knowledge on the Mexica or the Maya as a whole, just as I wouldn't the introduction of the Theory of Relativity on Jews or Germans). Of course, they pass over the human sacrifice, the conquering of neighboring tribes, slavery, etc.. But the Europeans did this, too! So, I guess we should look at history selectively, then, as if Europeans did nothing good.

Anyways, this is an introductory post. I'll make more soon.

  2. The fact that human sacrifice, slavery and antiquity-style imperialism existed in the Americas does not give a good excuse for the shit done by the conquistadors here. On the topic of sacrifice, to analize it apart from the philosofy behind it is to give this Leo Guerra shitbag a point.
